May 08, 2011: Ulusaba Introduces a New Volunteer Safari
Ulusaba recently introduced a new volunteer safari program near the Sabi Sand Reserve.
The program aims to encourage guests to get involved during their visit and provides an opportunity to experience the area near the Sabi Sand Reserve on a more personal level.
Itineraries can be individually tailored to suit guests’ interests and skills. Specific projects include teaching at local crèches and high schools and encouraging entrepreneurship in the local community.
Since it was set up by members of the Ulusaba, Pride ‘n Purpose, it now benefits over 35 000 people across six communities.
Ulusaba’s Pride ‘n Purpose was recently nominated as one of the three finalists in the 2011 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards in the ‘Community Benefit’ category.
