8 Days, 7 Nights

Start your eight day Zambia getaway at the remote and intimate Kalamu Lagoon Camp is located in the exclusive Luamfwa Concession of South Luangwa National Park. South Luangwa’s history dates back some 30 years and is where the concept of walking safaris originated. This national park lies along the Luangwa River and is home to some of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife. The camp welcomes only 12 guests in Zambian safari-style reed and canvas tents with up to 8 guests in two family units, each en-suite with an indoor and outdoor shower.

Continue your vacation at the Busanga Bush Camp located on the Busanga Plains, Northern Kafue National Park. At8 600 sq. miles, Kafue National Park is one of the largest protected expanses in all Africa. The Busanga Plains is one of Zambia’s most important wetland and grassland resources and is untouched by development and human activity – the wildlife and wilderness jewel in the Kafue crown. Busanga Bush Camp lies hidden in an island thicket. This camp can accommodate eight guests in four comfortable tents.

Finally conclude your getaway at the Toka Leya Camp located on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River in the secluded Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, and on the outskirts of Livingstone. This historical town was founded by the first European explorers to ‘discover’ the impressive Victoria Falls, and is today the tourism capital of Zambia. This contemporary but warm camp consists of 12 climate-controlled units on elevated wooden decks. Each unit has inside and outside showers as well as sweeping views of the Zambezi River from a comfortable balcony.

Your Destination

Location

Zambia is situated mainly on a vast plateau 1.8 miles above sea level, and boasts the Zambezi, Kafue and Luangwa rivers - as well as one of the largest waterfalls in the world, the Victoria Falls, which it shares with neighboring Zimbabwe. Most of the country has a mild, pleasant climate, while the river valleys are hotter and more humid; the extreme north becomes tropical on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, one of Zambia's ten large lakes. While Lusaka is the country's capital, Livingstone, just 6 miles from the Falls, is more well known to travelers as the 'adventure capital' offering adrenalin-packed activities on and around the Falls and the Zambezi River.
